Minimum Requirements

Applicants for sworn positions must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • U.S. citizen

  • 21 years of age before graduation of police academy

  • No felony convictions

  • No dishonorable discharge from United States Armed Forces

Testing Process

The Buckeye Police Department holds regular police recruit testing events which include a written process and a physical fitness process which includes the following:

  • 99-yard obstacle course

  • Drag a 165-lb body a distance of 32 feet

  • Scale 6-ft walls and run 25 yards

  • Run 1.5 miles in less than 15 minutes

  • 25 push-up untimed

  • 25 sit-ups in 1 minute
