  • Age: 21

  • Education: Graduation from high school or GED and possess a Colorado P.O.S.T. or Provisional certification.

  • Experience: POST certification

  • Special Qualifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license. Must  maintain Colorado P.O.S.T. certification; maintain firearm proficiency  and be on the on-call schedule and live within a 20 minute response  time.

  • Must be able to pass physical and psychological exams, background  checks and drug testing as provided for by State and Town requirements  and policies.

  • Physical Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform moderate physical work and to occasionally lift  100 pounds and to lift and carry up to 25 pounds; the ability to move a  person; the ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, kneel, crawl,  twist, reach, push, pull and perform a variety of similar body  movements; possess hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to the use of  weapons, office equipment, computers and operate a vehicle; the ability  to talk and hear in person, by phone and two-way radio; and the ability  to see and read instructions, policies, technical material, observe  evidence and use a computer.

  • Work Environment:

  • Functions of the position generally performed under circumstances  involving the potential hazards associated with crimes, accidents, fires  and other disturbances that may be life threatening or cause bodily  harm and involves the use of weapons. Frequently exposed to outside  weather and traffic conditions. The noise level in the work environment  is usually moderate.
