Don't approach applying to law enforcement agencies like you would any other job!
One of the most common mistakes that I see applicants make is approaching law enforcement like any other application process. It's NOT. Most people coming out of college are told to apply to as many places as possible and see who calls you back.
Doing this puts you at a considerable disadvantage in law enforcement, and you need to know that before you start. Apply with too many, and departments worry you don't necessarily care where you get hired. This is a red flag that you won't remain with their department.
